Individual & Family Resources
Clothing Projects and Fashion Revue
The State Fashion Revue Contest is held at State 4-H Congress usually during the month of July on the University of Florida Campus. The contest has been updated to address the needs of youth today and include more timely sewing categories and to allow the youth to express their creativity through the outfits they chose to model. The contest has five (5) categories: Traditional, Purchased, Recycled, Wearable Art/Embellished, and Needle Art, in which a senior 4-H’er may enter one (1) outfit or ensemble in only one(1) of the categories. 4-H youth will develop the skills necessary to plan, select, construct, or embellish clothing and enhance their ability to determine which accessories are suitable for a total polished look. Youth will learn to:
- build self-confidence by developing and understanding line and design concepts in expression of personal style
- plan and select suitable, becoming clothing and accessories for different occasions
