Astronomy Project

In the 4-H Astronomy projects, you will learn:

  • how to develop marketable and productive skills for work and
    family life in science and technology;
  • how to effectively communicate with others; and
  • skills such as decision-making, getting along with others, planning and organizing, and responsibility.

ASTRONOMY(For Youth Ages 8-15)

It's Out of This World provides 4-Hers with the opportunity to explore and learn about the basics of astronomy. Encourages the leaders and members to learn about astronomy together.

Cloverbuds (Ages 5-7)

  • There is no project guide for this level.

Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors (Ages 8-18)

  • It's Out of this World includes hands-on projects and experiments that teach kids about stars, night vision, night activities, the moon, the solar system, telescopes, constellations and sundials. Astronomy periodicals, web sites, equipment vendors, observatories and planetariums, and astronomy clubs are listed with contact information so students and leaders alike may advance their knowledge even further.
