Computer Project

In the 4-H Computer projects, you will learn:

  • Identify and use the basic components of a personal computer
  • Identify the similarities and differences in basic office software applications
  • Use what you learn about technology to pursue your own goals
  • Make intelligent and safe use of the Internet
  • develop marketable skills, practice planning and organizing, practice managing stress and become better at communicating your ideas for work and family life.
  • ectively communicate with others; and
  • skills such as decision-making, getting along with others, planning and organizing, and responsibility.

COMPUTERS(For Youth Ages 11-18)

This series helps youth develop a working knowledge of how computers are built and operate, the use of networks, and creating service-learning opportunities using their new-found computer knowledge..

COMPUTERS - Level 1 (Ages 8-10)

  • There is no project guide for this level.

COMPUTERS - Level 2 (Ages 11-13)

  • Inside the Box teaches 4-Hers the basics of computers including: computer components and operating systems. They will also learn about the building, maintenance and repair of computers. Available through National 4-H Council.

COMPUTERS - Level 3 (Ages 14-18)

  • Peer to Peer teaches 4-Hers the basics of computer networking. They will then work with adults and peers to build a functioning network. Available through National 4-H Council.
  • Teens Teaching Tech allows 4-Hers to work with peers, adults and community partners to develop service-related computer goals or to develop lesson plans and teach diverse populations basic computer skills. Available through National 4-H Council.
